Adolescence is a crucial period for coordination, strength development, and injury prevention. Based in Thônex, Geneva, this Pilates program supports young athletes as their bodies grow and change.
Who is this programme for?
The Young Athlete Programme is designed for teenagers aged 12 and above who are active
in sport or dance. Sara works regularly with young athletes in Geneva involved in:
Ballet and dance — building the core strength, alignment and body awareness that every young dancer needs to perform and stay injury-free
Gymnastics — developing control, flexibility and postural stability to support demanding training loads
Tennis — improving rotational strength, shoulder stability and movement efficiency on and off the court
Swimming — addressing posture, breathing mechanics and the muscle imbalances that competitive swimmers commonly develop
Football and rugby — building core strength and joint stability to reduce injury risk during intensive training periods
Hockey — strengthening the stabilising muscles of the hips, spine and shoulders that hockey demands
Skiing and snowboarding — preparing the body for the season and building the leg and core
strength that carving requires
Why Classical Pilates for teenagers?
Adolescence is a period of rapid growth — bones, muscles and connective tissue are all changing at the same time. This makes it both the most important and the most vulnerable time to build movement foundations properly.
Classical Pilates offers teenagers a safe, progressive system that builds genuine strength without the compression or loading risks of heavy gym training. Sessions focus on alignment, coordination, breath control and body awareness — skills that directly transfer to every sport and activity.
Sara's background as a professional ballet dancer gives her a particular understanding of how young, developing bodies move, and how to challenge them appropriately without risking injury.
Sessions take place at Le Pilates Loft, Thônex — accessible from across the Geneva region, including Chêne-Bougeries and Champel.
